    Rookie Power Rankings

    5. Thaddeus Young

The 76ers are one of the two NBA teams that has turned their season around on the back of a rookie. Young seemed to break through the wall in January and helped turn his team into a legitimate playoff team in the East.

    4. Carl Landry

If not for missing a stretch recently, we would definitely have this man rated higher. Carl Landry has been an amazing force for the Rockets. A second round pick that was written off as a long term project, Carl Landry forced himself into the Houston lineup as a pivotal piece of the 22 game win streak. Look for Carl Landry to improve even more as he gets more and more minutes.

    3. Kevin Durant

This standout from UT is getting everyone in Oklahoma City excited. With just a shade under 20 points per game as a rookie, Durant looks like the real deal. When you realize that the Sonics will be adding a top 5 pick next to him, it seems like the Sonics could potentially add to the dominance of the Western Conference for a long time.

    2. Luis Scola
    Luis Scola

The other half of the Houston Rockets two-headed monster at PF is Luis Scola. Traded to the Rockets after the Spurs failed to find room for him on the roster for so many years, Scola has stepped up. His nack for always finding open space leads to easy baskets, and has really made the transition to Rick Adelman’s motion offense much easier for the Rockets.

    1. Al Horford
    Al Horford

Watching Horford play against New Jersey, it was easy to pick him as the number one rookie in the league right now. By the end of the season he should be averaging a double double for a team that needs every bucket and board to make the playoffs. Although seemingly mismatched against Dwight Howard, it’s only been a few weeks since Al Horford torched Pau Gasol for 15 poins and 20 rebounds.
